About the Greater St. Louis Book Fair
Our Mission

Our mission is threefold: to empower youth with literacy, to empower the community through ongoing support of local charities, and to empower our volunteers through experiences that create lasting memories. Oh, the stories we’ll tell!

Our History

Since 1950, Book Fair has been a favorite seasonal destination of book lovers and collectors nationwide. Volunteers work year-round gathering over one million new, gently used, and rare items from individuals, estates, businesses, and other organizations. Fair proceeds assist local education and literacy programs with operational expenses, student aid, and other financial needs.

Environmental Impact

Recycling books within our community reduces waste. Those who donate books to the Greater St. Louis Book Fair give them a second life instead of sending them to a landfill. We use what we already have to foster a love for literacy and create a culture that loves reading.
